Ironic, by Alanis Morissette

This is the song we listened to in class, but in the acoustic version. There is also a slight difference in the lyrics. Can you spot it? (Juanjo)

I love to boogie, by T-Rex (Montse)

This is part of the soundtrack of Billy Elliot. Some parts in the lyric are interesting, although they repeat a lot that they love to boggie. I love this song too because it makes me dance (Montserrat).

Human, by The Killers (Ana)

When I heard this song for the first time, I couldn`t stop singing it for the rest of the day. I think the music is very catchy. About the text, it`s a little bit strange. It`s ambiguous and you can interpret it in many ways. Some translations say "denser" and others say "dancers", anyway, the sense is not very clear, but I understand that it is like an S.O.S. call. The Twelve Days of Christmas (Rita)

As you know, next Thursday there is a party at the school (from 6 pm). The so-called Christmas party is an excuse to meet and say goodbye before the longest holidays within the school year. People bring cakes, sweets and other munchies. We also "sing" carols and there is one particular xmas carol which has become a tradition in the school, "The Twelve Days of Xmas". Of course, we also sing "Jingle Bells", "Silent Night", "Oh, Christmas Tree", "The Little Drummer Boy" and many others, but this one is the only one we manage to sing all together at the same time, if you know what I mean. Here is a version "a capella" (the way we sing it) for you to practise. If the version is too easy for you, try "YouTube" to find one that may suit your needs in a better way:

On the first day of Christmas,
my true love gave to me
A partridge in a pear tree.

On the second day of Christmas,
my true love gave to me
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

On the third day of Christmas,
my true love gave to me
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

On the fourth day of Christmas,
my true love gave to me
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

On the fifth day of Christmas,
my true love gave to me
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

On the sixth day of Christmas,
my true love gave to me
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

On the seventh day of Christmas,
my true love gave to me
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

On the eighth day of Christmas,
my true love gave to me
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

On the ninth day of Christmas,
my true love gave to me
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

On the tenth day of Christmas,
my true love gave to me
Ten lords a-leaping,
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

On the eleventh day of Christmas,
my true love gave to me
Eleven pipers piping,
Ten lords a-leaping,
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

On the twelfth day of Christmas,
my true love gave to me
Twelve drummers drumming,
Eleven pipers piping,
Ten lords a-leaping,
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree!
